I thought about making it into a shelf but in the end I decided to make it into a sign. I saw some ideas on good ole Pinterest and grabbed my supplies and set to work.
Happy Friday! Time to share another quick project. Last year at a local flea market with my good friend Lisa I picked up an old wooden ironing board for $5, not sure what I would do with it but knew I would regret it if I didn't grab it. There was some water damage and no legs but it could be something. . . . . . . I thought about making it into a shelf but in the end I decided to make it into a sign. I saw some ideas on good ole Pinterest and grabbed my supplies and set to work. BEFORE Quick sand, clean, prime then paint with ADVANCE- great product, self leveling and durable. Added letters using a simple stencil. AFTER Just in case you have an old ironing board just lying around check out these other ideas I found. Well that's it for now. Off to finish another project!

As a lover of industrial and reclaimed design, I have an attraction to all things metal, rusty or not. A while back I picked up a couple of galvanized letters from a local antique store and created a little vignette on my buffet and then I decided to put them in a basket and move them to our powder room. I had planned to put them on the wall at some point but then I found another metal piece on one of my Saturday salvage expeditions and put that up instead. Home is a work in progress- and ever changing. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Here's a quick look at my new found treasures. I love my rusty arrow pointing the way upstairs- just in case anyone gets lost! Spell it out on a table, in a basket or on a wall. These cool letters and symbols pop up in lots of interesting and unusual spaces.
