Some of you may know that I love unique chairs, and my latest addition is no exception. During the summer I spotted a great school house chair at a roadside garage sale. I squealed and got my husband to pull over immediately and made the deal! $4 for my new treasure. My husband probably thought differently but as usual he indulged my whims! It was a little rusty and well worn but I loved it. We took it home and at first I thought I could use it in the office at our desk but....it wasn't really up to the challenge so I decided to put it to use in a corner of my bedroom with a sheepskin throw on it to add some softness. Believe it or not there are plenty of other schoolhouse chair lovers out there too, check it out! via myhouseofgiggles.blogspot via pinterest- via designsponge via blog.stylizimo via themaronhousebook.com via skjerstad.blogspot

I am a huge fan of industrial design and one thing I love is vintage lighting. Beaten up metal, age and patina. Show me more, I say! Over the summer I came a cross a perfect example, an iron gooseneck desk lamp for only $5 at a salvage yard down East. I have since seen similar lamps priced up to the hundreds. I'm still researching to find out the exact history behind it but in the mean time I love having it sit in a prime spot on my desk. It adds a little character nestled between two new IKEA bookshelves. Old meets new always works in my book! Combining styles and eras creates layers and interest. Check out these other fine examples of these adjustable, useful lights. Hello, yellow! Great colour, shape and decorative details. perfect on this distressed wooden desk. Bedside beauty, perfect for reading in bed. In " mint" condition, funky neck with fabulous orange cord. Fibreglass shade with golden base. Elegant and stylish mid century. Why not wall mount your industrial table lamp? Use in a new way. |
