Our inspiration from Tin Barn Market Any excuse I have to get together with friends and DIY, I'm there! So last week my crafting twin Lisa and I gathered supplies and set to work. A while back we had seen a piece of art and our local fave "Tin Barn Market" using a vintage tin ceiling panel and some barnboard. It looked cool and rustic and caught out eye. I then remembered that at my work ( Sanctuary Paint and Decor) we had some left over faux tin panels. My boss was kind enough to donate them to the crafting cause, Lisa had stain and glue, we both had a collection of paint and then we split the cost on a few pieces of wood. We were ready to operate sorry but we do take this very seriously! Not really! Here's a quick break down. . . .

Recently while scrolling through Pinterest I found a great idea for my office using clipboards. One of my favourite blogs Decor8 had bought these fabric covered clipboards from House Doctor which by the way is an awesome site. She used them in her inspiring space and I loved the way it looked. I had used a clipboard for a photograph before and knew the versatility of this basic office supply! Here is my inspiration. I bought 6 clipboards from Staples, they came in packs of 2 for about $3.99. Then I picked up 6 sheets of scrapbook paper from Michaels. They were on sale 3 for 99 cents. I did have a supply of paper at home but wanted a certain colour so it was a good excuse to buy more! I used mod podge and glued the paper down onto the boards and within minutes they were ready to hang on the wall in my office. I then added some magazine pictures of rooms I like. Check it out.If you want to try a clipboard DIY here are some other cool ways too use them.Get Clipping!Yesterday was the final day of one of the worlds biggest Design Shows, held in the beautiful city of Milan,Italy. Over the weekend I paid a visit to one of my regular haunts Tin Barn Market and I picked up an old wooden yardstick originally from a paint store in Toronto. I decided a while ago I would like to start a collection of them. As this is my first one for now I have put it on a small wall at the bottom of my stairs that has always needed something. Over time I will move it around when it finds some friends! These old wooden rulers have been around forever and people have now realised how versatile they can be. Don't just use them to measure, why not try one of these great ideas? Amazing buffet with yardstick front, great handles and display.
